What does Matchsmith collect?

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no network connection, no advertising, no analytics, no third-party SDK and no server behind this app. It requests no Android permissions. The patterns you write, the challenges you finish, your saved library and your streak live in the app's own storage on your phone and are never sent anywhere.

*

Who is behind the app?

Matchsmith is made and published by DriftNova Labs, a trading name of A.S.K. Partners Lendco D Limited, registered in England and Wales. For data protection purposes the company is the controller — though, as this policy makes clear, there is no personal data to control.

What exactly does this policy apply to?

The Android application Matchsmith, package name com.patternloom.matchsmith, as distributed on Google Play. It does not cover Google Play itself, your device manufacturer's software, or anything else you might open from your device.

*

What is definitely not collected?

To be specific, the app gathers none of the following:

  • Identity — no name, email address, phone number, username or account.
  • Device identifiers — no advertising ID, Android ID, IMEI or device fingerprint.
  • Location — never requested, never inferred.
  • Usage and analytics — no screen views, sessions, event logs or crash reports leave the device.
  • Contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone — not touched, not asked for.
  • Payment information — there are no purchases, subscriptions or billing in the app.

Since none of it is collected, none of it is stored on a server, shared with anyone, or sold. There is no back end that could be breached.

*

Then what is saved on my phone?

So your work survives closing the app: the patterns you save, how far you have got through the challenges, your practice streak and simple settings. All of it is written to the app's private storage area on your device.

It is not transmitted, not readable by other apps, and it disappears when you clear the app's data or uninstall Matchsmith.

*

What permissions does it need?

None. Matchsmith declares no Android runtime permissions and does not use the internet — it behaves identically with the device in airplane mode. If a permission prompt ever appears while you are using this app, decline it and write to us, because it did not come from Matchsmith.

*

Are any third-party services involved?

No advertising network, no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, no social integration, no cloud service. Nothing reaches a third party through this app.

Google Play distributes, installs and updates it. Google may collect information about that process under its own privacy policy, which we neither control nor have access to.

*

Is it safe for children?

Matchsmith is a study tool suitable for all ages and is not directed specifically at children under 13. As it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children. If you believe a child has somehow given us personal information, contact us and we will look into it — although the app offers no mechanism by which that could happen.

*

How is my data kept secure?

The strongest safeguard available is not holding your data at all. What the app does save sits in Android's private per-app storage, protected by the device's own security model and, on current devices, by full-disk encryption. Keeping your phone updated and locked with a passcode or biometric is what protects it in practice.

*

What about my rights under GDPR?

Under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and comparable laws you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. We hold no personal data about users of Matchsmith, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase on request. Everything the app has stored locally can be removed at any moment by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.

If you are in the UK and want to raise a data protection concern, the Information Commissioner's Office is at ico.org.uk. In the EU, contact your national supervisory authority.

*

Does it matter which country I am in?

Matchsmith works anywhere Google Play is available. Because no data leaves the app, there is no international transfer of personal data to describe.

*

What happens if this policy changes?

If a future version of the app changes anything that affects privacy — a feature needing a network connection, for instance — this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the effective date above will change. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy. Earlier versions are not retroactively affected.
